This was the 25th year the Frackville Rotary sponsored the Memorial Day Parade. Along with honoring
our fallen heros of wars past, "Hometown Heros" were also honored. The Honorable John Domalakes, led
the ceremony where Frackville's Hometown Heros: Mr. Kaplan, Frackville Ambulance Association, Mr. Mallow,
Friendship Fire Company and Office Knittle, Frackville Police Department spoke to the crowd that gathered.
Children and adults of all ages came out to honor our fallen citizens. Girls Softball, Little League, Boy
Scouts & Girls Scouts, Frackville Lions, and Frackville Rotary all marched in the parade that ran from
Arch Street & Lehigh Avenue to the front of Memorial Park on Spring Street. There were even some old time
fancy cars that were decked out in red white and blue for the parade.
The North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School Band provided music, along with Bugler Ron Andrews who played the
traditional taps song.
